29th annual Florida storyfest February 28 - March 3, 2013
The Florida StoryFest (formerly StoryCamp), February 28 - March 3, 2013, is the premier storytelling event of the Southeast, it includes not only the best in storytelling, but also the greatest in learning workshops, for both beginning and professional tellers. For the past 28 years storytellers and story lovers have convened for the annual Florida Storytelling Association StoryFest this year to be held at the Historic Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora, Florida. They come to be spellbound by the stories they hear and take into their hearts. They come to be enchanted with the knowledge shared by renowned tellers and teachers. Most of all, they come to be immersed in this once-a-year opportunity to spend time with their peers and other story enthusiasts, to share their own wisdom and stories, and to form and strengthen friendships based on the mutual love of story. The conference kicks-off Thursday with a special evening concert. Friday and Saturday will afford multiple opportunities to immerse yourself in dozens of fine workshops, story swaps, story slams and music jams, performances, and spontaneous gatherings. Starting Friday evening the festival begins with our featured tellers immersing you in story and then continuing on all day Saturday with our new Tell and Talk Concert Series and into the evening unto the big tent at Elizabeth Evans Park.
Florida StoryFest is more than just the stories. Whatever your background or interest—whether you are a newcomer, a novice, experienced teller or listener—there’s a place for you at the Florida StoryFest! Whatever your forte, the camaraderie and continuous flow of stories, will be just what you hope to find! CEUs for Educators are also available.
